March is reading month at South Side!
This week, our first-grade class had some special guests stop by to read to them. Everyone joined in the fun of sharing stories and sparking imaginations! But the excitement didn't stop there - each first-grade student was gifted a book of their very own! We also wanted to give a special shout out to Greyson Mead in Mrs. Snyder’s class for getting picked as the Reading Champion by the Elkhart Public Library!

Concord students in kindergarten through Grade 2 are invited to participate in Mini 4-H, a program offered through the Elkhart County 4-H program. Students enrolled in Mini 4-H can complete projects such as arts and crafts, foods, models, dinosaurs, collections, cake decorating, and have their work on display at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair. There is no cost to participate!

Concord Community Schools will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday, January 16th) due to inclement weather. Students will participate in virtual learning from home. This Friday is South Side's 10th Read Write Move! Like a Jog-A-Thon, students and staff will be reading, writing and moving all day long! To support our fun, we have community leaders, partners, and volunteers that will be joining us to ensure that it will be a blast!
It's not too late to help your student raise funds for this event. Students came home with an envelope last week to collect money from their sponsors. Funds raised will go back to South Side to support our adventures in learning!
